Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1 PM at the Allen funeral home in Sterling with the Rev. M Melvin Hough, pastor of the first Congressional Church of Sterling and the Rev. Clark Moushon, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sterling, co-officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Knoll Memorial Park Sterling Illinois. Friends may call at the Allen funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and then 6 to 8 PM.
A Memorial has been established in his memory to the Whiteside County Cancer Society.
Carlton Fisher was born on October 13, 1915 in Glen Elder Kansas. The son of Clarence and Flossie Applebee Fisher. On February 6, 1938 he married Ruth Friesen in Sterling. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1981. He was superintendent in the rolling mills at Northwestern Steel and Wire company in Sterling retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Sterling Elks club and the Sterling Kiwanis club. He was president of the Golden K Kiwanis club of Sterling and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church Sterling.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter, six grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters, and one brother.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife.
