Sonia was born on May 22, 1948 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to Carl & Peggy (Cash) Ours. On October 22, 1988 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she married Charles A. "Chuck" Bailey.
Sonia has lived in Bluffton for the last 5 years. She retired in 2005 At Mead-Westvaco Company in Indianapolis, where she worked for 28 years. In her retirement she was an active volunteer at Bluffton Regional Medical Center and the Bluffton Parks Departments. Sonia and Chuck were honored as the 2009 Volunteers of the Year from the Bluffton Parks Department. She also volunteered at her grandchildren's class in the Bluffton School System, along with helping in many areas at her church, Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton. She was also active in Angel Food Ministry and was very active in her grandchildren's lives.
Survivors include her husband Chuck of Bluffton, a daughter Tania D. (Thompson) Humbarger of Bluffton along with 4 grandchildren: Katrena A Thompson, Bianca R., Cordell J. & Coby M. Humbarger. She is also survived by sisters Carmela Joy Young of Lakeland, Florida, Rose Ann Grimes of Glen Saint, Florida and Joyce Clemings of Newark, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends are invited to visit with the Sonia's family from 3 to 8 on Thursday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 on Friday (October 15, 2010) in the Funeral Home with calling 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Gary Aupperle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garden of Chimes in Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials may be made to the Hope Missionary Church Youth Program.
