Ms. Glenda Faye "Varnes" Guinn, 61, died Saturday morning (July 7, 2012) at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL following a short illness.
She was a native of Folkston but resided most of her life in Blackshear. She retired from Satilla Regional Medical Center as a licensed practical nurse after 28 years of service.
She was a daughter to the late Lois Evline Walker Guinn.
The survivors include her daughter, Amanda Varnes Taylor (husband Mathew) of Waycross; two sons, Timothy Wayne Varnes (wife Cherlyn) of San Antonio, TX and Brian D. Varnes (wife Lydia) of Blackshear; six grandchildren, Mikell, Alec, Joshua, Jordan, Lily, and Jase; her father, Harold L. Guinn of Homeland; a sister, Bonnie Yvonne Guinn of Folkston; three brothers, Harold G. Guinn, Sr. of Waycross, Ronald L. Guinn (wife Iris) of Pensacola, FL, and Larry A. Guinn (wife Cleone) of Cornelia, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (July 11, 2012) at Homeland Cemetery near Folkston. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
Music Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
