Rev. Clifton Allen, 89, of McComb, MS passed away on May 28, 2012 at the McComb Nursing and Rehab Center in McComb.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at Hartman-Sharkey funeral home in McComb. Rev. LaVerne Summerlin will officiate; burial will be in Reeves Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born November 25, 1922 in Pike County MS. He was the son of the late, Coran L. and Lena Gatlin Allen.

He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was of the Class of 1941 from Jones High School and was a graduate from South West Junior College in 1950 and Whitworth College in 1977 and proudly served in the US Army during WWII.

During his life, Mr. Allen served his community as a teacher and went on to be a preacher; where he served as Pastor for Oak Grove Baptist of Amite County as well as many other churches. He was a blessing to all who knew him and always thought of others first. He was a giving person and was very generous in his giving to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of McComb as well as the Children's Advocacy Center. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded by his parents, three brothers, Fleet, Horace and C.L. Allen, two sisters, Anna Belle Melton and Allie Mae Bryant, one aunt, Maude Gatlin.

He is survived by his very special adopted"in the Lord" Christian family, Tommy A. and Lisa C. Myers and their children, Haley and Christian Myers all of McComb, also with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Joe McCulley, Tommy Myers, Dwain Brister, Chan Thomas, Kenny Willingham and William Weber.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emerson Wikinson, L.D. White, Al McCulley, Ed Butler, Bobby Weber, James Jackson, Mike Brister and Dwain Bankston.
