Lena Izora Ballengee, 68, died in her home on Sunday at 306 Eastern Ave., Taft, California. She was born Aug. 12, 1893 in Grayson County, Texas and had been a resident of Taft the past 39 years.
She is survived by her husband William M.; three sons, Louis W. and Loral J. of Taft and Robert G. of Los Angeles; three daughters, Olla Mae Richards and Dorothy L. Parker of Taft and Lola Fern Chapman of McKittrick. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Hammons of Mangum, Oklahoma and John Hammons of Hobard, Oklahoma; and one sister, Anna Mae Davis of Tulare.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Erickson and Brown Chapel. Dr. Samuel Prescott of the Calvary Temple will be officiating. Interment will follow at the West Side District Cemetery.
