Leander ~~ Douglas Richard Glaeser, 21, of Leander, died Wednesday, Dec 27, 1989.
He was born at Hamilton Air Force Base, Novata, California, on March 11, 1968. He attended grades 1~12 in the Leander ISD where he was involved in various sport and band activities and where he graduated in 1986. He enlisted in the USAF in October 1986. Following basic and technical training, he attained the rank of Senior Airman and was assigned as a crew chief at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma.
He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents Lt. Col. (Retired) and Mrs. George E. Glaeser of Leander; one brother, John E. Glaeser and wife Gina of Cedar Park, one sister, Susan D. Glaeser of Leander; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Condon of Mobil, Alabama; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Glaeser of Austin; and two nephews of Cedar Park.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 30, 1989, in the Cook-Walden chapel of the Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be in Capital Memorial Gardens Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to M.A.D.D.

Richard Glaeser was a passenger in a car that careened into a culvert on FM 2243 4 miles west of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, flipping twice. Police said the driver was legally intoxicated. Richrd, 21, of 1109 Fawn Valley Drive, Leander, died at Brackenridge Hospital from head injuries suffered in the accident about 11 hours after the accident. Richard, the front-seat passenger and the only one of those in the car not wearing a seat belt was thrown from the car. Richard was a senior airman in the Air Force and was stationed at Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma.
