Robert Muse Alston, son of Wallace and Gertrude Claire [Huber] Alston, was born on the 20th day of August 1919 in New Orleans. He was the second of four children. Robert was named for his paternal great-grandfather, Robert Muse from Starkville, Mississippi.
Robert M. Alston attended and graduated from Louisana State University in 1941. After World War II broke-out, Robert enlisted the 7th of February 1942 in the the Coast Artillery Corps and rose to the rank of Warrant Officer.
Robert was married to Mary Margaret, with whom he had four children:
Janet (Lowell) Hall of Bogalusa, LA
John (Barbara) Alston of Bogalusa, LA
David (Peggy) Alston of Picayune, MS
Dallas (Jane) Alston of Puerto Rico
Robert Muse Alston departed this life on the 7th of March 2008. He is buried in the Alston Family plot in Ponemah Cemetery.
