Bettie Lou (Harbage) Allen of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 5, 2012, at home with her family by her side. Bettie was born in Columbus on July 28, 1924. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin A. "Mike" Allen; Father, Edwin M. Harbage; Mother, Helen K. (Murray); and sister, Phyllis J. (Cvitanovich). She is survived by daughter, Phyllis "Diana" Unrue (widow of James Thomas) of Gainesville, Virginia; her grandchildren, Michele "Miki" Head (husband Ken) of Suffolk, Virginia; Michael "Mike" Unrue (wife Tina) of Gainesville, Virginia and Marlo "Molly" Bridenstine (husband Joel) of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Bettie has seven great-grandchildren; Meghan, Brandon, Sarah, Jamie, Joel II, Joshua, and Samantha; and one great-great grandchild, Theodore. Bettie was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend to many. Bettie was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1942. Bettie and Mike retired to Ocala, Florida, where they lived for 20 years before moving to Gainesville, Virginia, to live with their grandson. Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Sunday 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Monday 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 584 W. Broad Street. Final resting place is Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Medi Home Hospice Manassas, 9625 Surveyor Court, Suite 230, Manassas, VA 20110, in honor of Bettie Lou Allen.
