Albert E. Blacka, 90, of 28 High St., Dunbar, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in his home after a lingering illness.

He was born Oct. 12, 1883, in Dunbar, a son of the late William D. and Barbara Wilkinson Blacka. He was a life-long resident of Dunbar and a member of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Harriet) Carr of Bethelboro, Mrs. Albert (Polly) Herman at home and Mrs. Charles (Alva) McGiven of Ambridge; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a niece who was reared by the Blackas, Thelma Wilhelm of Springdale.

He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche Cole Blacka, three brothers and one sister.


BLACKA - Friends of Albert E. Blacka, Dunbar, who died Tuesday, September 17, 1974, will be received in the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and noon until 2 p.m. Friday, the hour of the service at the Franklin Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald Michael officiating. Internment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
