Mrs. Allcot of Oceano Dies

Mrs. Christina Lutes Allcot died Saturday, September 4th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Spears in Oceano, after an illness of several months.
Funeral services were held at the Cleaver funeral home on Monday afternoon, Rev. F. R. Johnston officiating.
Two vocal duets, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and That Beautiful Land," were sweetly rendered during the services by the Misses Lillian and Adella Whitlock. There was a large gathering of friend and the casket was covered and banked about with beautiful floral offerings.
The pallbears were C. P. Smith, Monroe Price, I. F. Bushnell, Ray Foster, Jesse Ball and C. B. Grainger.
Internment took place on the Arroyo Grande cemetery Beside the grave of her husband who had passed away 22 years ago.
The commitment service was read by Rev. Nelson and the benediction pronounced by Rev. Johnston.
Christina Lutes Allcot was born in Algonquin, Illinois, Jun 17, 1846, and was married to John Henry Allcott, October 11, 1880 in Arkansas, Wisconsin. Here to this union was born a daughter, Lillie Marion and a son, Freddie, who died when one year of age.
They moved to Elgin, Illinois in 1885, were another son, Albert Samuel, was born. The family than moved to McMurry, Washington in 18??. In September, 1897 the they came to California, living near San Miguel until the spring of 1897, when they moved to Arroyo Grande where they made their home. Mr. Allcot passed away on May 15, 1904. Mrs. Allcot passed had resided in her home on Allen street practically allof the time before her death.
She was a faithful member of the local Methodist church for many years.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Spears of Oceano, on son, Samuel Allcot of Lompoc, a grandson, Melvin Spears of Santa Maria, a great-granddaughter, Louise Spears of this city, a step-son Frank Allcot, a step-daughter , Mrs. Jessie Freeman, both of Minneapolis, Minn., three sisters, Mrs B. L. Haglen, Ridgefield, New Jersey; Mrs A. S. Jones, Elgin, Ill, and Mrs. Lillie Seamans, Belleflower, Calif.; four neices, Miss Winnifred Van Druesen, Lancaster, Calif.; Mrs Dorothy Wilson, Watsonville, Calif,; Mrs. Edith Biddle, Elgin, Ill., and a grand-nephew, Richard Biddle, Elgin, Ill.
