The following obituary appeared in "The Indiana Progress" (Indiana, PA) on Wednesday, October 2, 1901, page 1, column 5:

PETER SPICHER.

Mr. Peter Spicher, a well-known resident of Montgomery township, died at this home, on Friday, aged about 75 years, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife and the following children: 'Squire J. D. Spicher and Daniel Spicher, of Hillsdale; Mr. and Mrs. Adam King and Mrs. Jesse Barkey, of Grant township; Mrs. Miles Seger, of Banks township, and Lewis Spicher, at home. The deceased was an upright citizen, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the East Mahoning Baptist church, near Purchase Line, where interment was made on Sabbath.
