Audrey J. Gibbons, 78, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Boone County Hospital in Boone. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service celebrating Audrey's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, at the Sanborn Memorial Chapel in the Madrid Home, in Madrid, where the family will greet friends following the service. A private burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.

Audrey was born the daughter of Eugene and Alice Webb Todd on February 8, 1933 in Madrid, Iowa. She was a 1951 graduate of Madrid High School. In 1952, Audrey was united in marriage to Robert Keith Gibbons in California, and they made their home in Madrid. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, had volunteered countless hours at the Historical Society in Madrid, and was an advocate for The Madrid Home.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert Gibbons of Madrid; daughters, Vickey Gibbons of Madrid and Paula (Jim) Battani of Woodward; one brother, Steven Todd of Adel; and two granddaughters, Haley (Boston) Freilinger of Ankeny and Lacey Battani of Woodward. Audrey was preceded into eternal life by her parents; and one brother, Donald Todd.
