Elijah Aydelotte, 74, died Tuesday at the hospital. Funeral services were held at the Masonic Temple Thursday with the Masonic ritual at the cemetery.
He was born May 5, 1893 on Pinos Creek, the son of Henry Clay and Ottilda M. Eisanbrandt Aydelotte. He grew up in the Del Norte community and lived here nearly all his life. As a young man he farmed on Pinos Creek with is father and five brothers. In 1919 the family moved to the ranch east of town where they continued farming and operated a dairy business until 1944 when the brothers retired from farming. He moved to town and was engaged by Herschel Gates as a heavy equipment operator. In 1949 he went to work for the Del Norte Potato Growers Cooperative where he was employed for twenty years.
He and Miss Florence Petrie were married in Del Norte in November, 1920. He was a member of # 105 Masons, Consistory, and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Elsie F. Smith, Alamosa; one son, Ernest, St. Petersburg, Florida; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
