Marion was the daughter of Myrtle Wells-Sutton and John Sutton Sr.Marion was born and raised in Concord, CA. She attended the University of California at Berkeley. That is where she met her future husband, Frank R. Beede. The couple moved to Antioch in 1922, where she began a forty one year teaching career.She retired in 1963 and Antioch High School auditorium was named for her.
