Father Joseph bolser
"Veteran of the Civil War. Union soldier and sailor. The son of Joseph (1814-1874) and Ellen Coughlin Bolser (1812-1892). He enlisted in the 11th Regiment, Ohio Infantry Militia (1 month, 1862), He was enrolled on September 2, 1862 and mustered out on October 26, 1862. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman on the USS Grampus on June 23, 1863, served to June 29, 1863. Served on the USS Reindeer to September 30, 1863 as Seaman and as Quartermaster to June 22, 1864 until discharged. He married Sarah Addis (1845-1880) in 1873. They had three children, Emma (b. 1874), Elmer (b. 1876) and George (1878-1879). He worked as a painter/carpenter most of his life. He received an invalid pension for his military service (Certificate #9011). He died of valvular heart disease at age 79."
