Courtney Leah Bond, 35, of Oklahoma City, was born on December 5, 1974 and lost her battle with a malignant brain tumor on June 24, 2010. Courtney gave her life as a servant of others. In addition to loving service, her passions included family, fighting Alzheimer's disease, and cooking. Courtney was a 1993 graduate of U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City, a 1997 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, and an active member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church. Courtney was preceded in death by her father, David; by her grandfathers, Bud Rogers and Jerry Owens. She is survived by her husband, Jay; her mother, Shirley Owens; sister, Jennifer Owens; all of Oklahoma City; grandmothers, Claudia Rogers of Oklahoma City, and Mary Lou Owens of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alan and Joy Bond of Yukon; sister-in-law, Leslie Evans, and husband, Mark, of Oklahoma City; a niece and 2 nephews; and countless loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. We ask that you join her family in rejoicing in Courtney's being today with her Heavenly Father and her earthly father. Courtney's family wants to offer sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Mercy Health Center, and to the team at the Neuroscience Institute, especially Dr. Fadi Nasr. Services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 1 PM, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond. To assist with Courtney's final expenses, or to make a contribution to cancer research or the Alzheimer's Association, please make all donations to the Courtney Owens Bond Memorial Fund at Bank of Oklahoma.
