A. B. Atkins, 64, Dies in Homer

HOMER, Feb. 10 (Special) – A. B. Atkins, 64, retired local attorney, died unexpectedly today at home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mr. Atkins was a member of the American Legion, the Louisiana Bar Assn., the Masons and the board of directors of the Homer National Bank.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Presbyterian Church here with the Rev. Jack Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Kerlin Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow; a son, A. B. Atkins Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Wallace of Shreveport and Mrs. James Rhodes of Alexandria; and a granddaughter.
