A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Efren was a United States Army Veteran. Efren was a Paratrooper during World War II, having served in Germany.
Efren went to eternal rest on Wednesday, October 26, 2005.
Efren was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, father, Efren, step-father, Edwardo Carter, son, Michael Stephan Valdéz and sister, Esther Baca.
Efren is survived by his sons, Michael Valdéz and his wife, Jamie of England and Danny Valdéz of Albuquerque, granddaughters, Michele, Kendra, Camille, Emily, Jo Anna, Steven, Charlene and Tracy, great-grandchildren, Angelica and Jeremiah, three sisters, Juanita Cox, Ruby Scott and Genevieve Montoya, three generations of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
Services will be held at San José Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2005 by Louise Padilla. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, with United States Army Honors. Pallbearers will be Don, Ike, John, Cruz, Andrew and Wayne. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland, Eugene, Gerald, Bill Hachitt, Bruce, Anthony, Steve and David.
