She was the former Wilma E. Mueller born June 14, 1906 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Rudolph & Marie Esling Mueller. Wilma attended Rockville Grade School. She was formerly married to Louis Kenneke. Wilma was employed at the former “Nipper” Christel Grocery Store & Lake to Lake Dairy, Kiel and worked at the former Jess’s Frock Shop in Kiel until her retirement. She was a life-long member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel. Wilma enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, knitting and baking.
Survivors include her children: Llewelyn (Gloria) Kenneke, Freeport, IL, Lou Ann (Phil) Schils, Ada, grandchildren: Tom (Cindy) Kenneke, Bob Kenneke, Cindy (Tom) Erb, Dave (Cindy) Kenneke, Steve (Amy) Kenneke, Debbie (Mike) Page, Patrick (Cathy) Beck, Annie Beck, Heather (Phil) Hanson, Christopher (Lori) Schils, Jeremy Schils, Ginger (Dave) Reimer, Wayde (Sharon) Kenneke, Mark (Liz) Kenneke, Ann Keenan, Kris (Robin) Hecker, Mary Kenneke, Tim (Angie) Kenneke, Lisa (Brian) Pfannenstein, Elil (Betsy) Kenneke and Tammy Kenneke. She is further survived by many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Kenneke, one son, Delmar Kenneke, one grandson, Jimmy Kenneke, one great grandson, Andy Lehman & nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th. St., Kiel with Rev. Wayde Kenneke, her grandson, officiating. Burial will take place in Schleswig Cemetery, Town of Schleswig, (Rockville) Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
