BENTON, DERRY JOE "JOEY", JR., age 32, of Adger passed away. He was a Birmingham Police Officer for 8 years and a member of Concord Highlands Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, at 2:00 p.m., at Brown Service West Chapel with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. Rev. Richard Lawson officiating. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Connie Benton; children, James Michael Nabors, Christen Lea Benton and Thomas Joe Benton; father, Mr. Joe and Peggy Benton; mother, Mrs. Kay and Olan Suddeth; grandmother, Mrs. Alice Benton; grandparents, Mr. Clarence and Elizabeth Davis; sister, Mrs. Kelly Mazzarella; brothers, Oley Suddeth, Allen and Jeff McConathy; and special uncle, Mr. Wayne Benton.
