Gertie Nettles Roberts, of Conroe, Texas gracefully left us to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2011

She was born March 11, 1918, in Crockett, Texas, the eldest child of the late Jesse James Nettles and Eura Mayes Nettles. Gertie is survived by two siblings and their spouses; Willis Nettles and wife Lupita and Mary Nettles Cafero and husband Dominick. She is preceded in death by her other siblings Merle Nettles Pace and her husband J.W. Pace and James Hubert Nettles.

Gertie was married in November 1955 to Ted Roberts, who also preceded her in death in 1995. She was an active member of the Eastern Star, the Pythian Sisters – Knights of Pythias, Davy Crockett #193, for a number of years. She was also a member of Allendale Baptist Church, Conroe, Texas.

In addition to being survived by her brother Willis and her sister Mary; Gertie is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Gertie's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10am in the Metcalf Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 5pm – 8pm on Friday, March 4,2011 also at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas 77304.
