MONTICELLO, Ind., Nov. 6. —
Mrs. Susan Spencer, a lifelong resident
of Union township and Monticello,
passed away at her home on
South Main street, Wednesday
night at 10:15 o'clock lifter a six
months illness. Her condition had
been critical since Tuesday. Mrs.
Spencer passed away on the eve
of her eighty-third birthday, as
she was born November 8, 1841,
in Union township, the daughter of
John and Martha Dyer Roberts.
She was united in marriage to Perry
Spencer on November 12, 1861.
They had lived in Monticello about,
thirty-two years ago. Mr. Spencer
passed away seven years ago. One
son, Robert Spencer; of Monticello,
survives, and one sister, Mrs. William
Fraser of Delphi.
Funeral services will be conducted
from the home Saturday afternoon
at 2 o'clock the Rev. Hovis of
Indianapolis, a former pastor of
the Methodist church of which she
was a member officiating. Burial
Will be made in the Monticello
cemetery.
