Obit: Sarah Graham, widow of the late James Buchanan, died at the home of her son Bayard T Buchanan, attorney at law of 1127 Okmulgee Ave, Okmulgee, OK, Tuesday evening 17 Feb 1914, aged 90y 10m 18d. Mrs Buchanan has been ill for sometime and word of her serious condition had been received a week or 2 since, when she was unconscious. She rallied later and her condition improved. But she was taken worse again and death resulted as stated. Arrangements were made to have the remains sstart from Oklahoma in charge of the son at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening for West Alexander, her home for many years. They are expected to arrive in time for funeral service to be held in charge of her pastor Rev Dr W M Coleman, at 2 o'clock this Friday afternoon. Interment in West Alexander cemetery.

Mrs Buchanan was a member of the old pioneer family of Donegal twp, north of Claysville, where her father, Robert Graham took out a Commonwealth patent on a tract of 34_ acres in 1785. The farm was owned by the Graham family 102 years and is held intact today and owned by John Cunningham, called Mt Vernon farm. Here Mrs Buchanan was born 30 Mar 1923. She resided there until her marriage to James Buchanan when they located on the Buchanan farm about 5 miles west of West Alexander. After following the pursuit of farming successfully, Mr and Mrs Buchanan moved to West Alexander in 1882. Mr Buchanan's death occurred in 1900. Mrs Buchanan remained here until nearly 6 years ago when she went to Wheeling Island and made her home about a year with her daughter, Mrs Chester Abercrombie. From there she went to Okmulgee about 5 years ago, enjoying good health in the home of her son until last December. Mrs Buchanan was for more than half a century an earnest and faithful member of the United Presbyterian church, a woman loved by her neighbors and cherished by her kindred. She is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs Chester Abercrombie (Maggie) of Wheeling Island, and 2 sons, R Graham Buchanan who resides 3 and a half miles west of West Alexander, and Bayard Buchanan of Okmulgee, OK. There is 1 brother of Pawnee City, NE in his 94th year.
