Irene "Pinkie" Arsers of New Ulm died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home. There will be a private family funeral on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with Pastor Hank Campbell officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm. There will be no public visitation or reviewal.

Irene is survived by her husband, John Arsers of New Ulm; sisters, Myra Fritsche and Vivian Dewanz both of New Ulm; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth Arsers, Sam Arsers, and Clarice Arsers all of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and three brothers.

Irene Lila Radtke was born in rural Springfield to Herman and Amanda (Gumto) Radtke. On November 18, 1946 she was united in marriage to John Arsers at the First United Methodist Parsonage in New Ulm. She travelled extensively with her husband when he was a professional musician. Pinkie worked as a cocktail waitress at the Sahara Casino and Four Queens Casino in Las Vegas for about twenty years while her husband was employed with TWA. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and travelling with her husband. She loved children and all animals. Irene was a lifetime honorary member of the Turner Ladies in New Ulm and was a member of the American Legion Post #132 Auxiliary in New Ulm. In lieu of flowers her family prefers memorials be given to New Ulm Medical Center Hospice or the donor's choice.
