Gary E. Churchill was born on Tuesday; December 20, 1938 in Chariton; Lucas County, Iowa. He was the son of: Arthur and Leona Churchill. On August 18, 1957, he was united in marriage to Connie Rodgers and to this union four children were born: Arthur, Linda, David, and Mary. Gary was married to Marion O'Leary August 4, 2000. Gary lived all his life in Chariton. He worked as a mechanic for many years, and later as a plumber until his retirement in 2002. Gary was a quiet and simple man who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and looking for morel mushrooms. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially target practicing with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of the Eagles Club and loved to dance to the Maury Goode Band. He looked forward to the Iowa State Fair every year, the funnel cakes, cheese curds, and the lemonade from the Pioneer Hall. Gary had many friends and a very loving family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to mourn his passing are: His loving wife: Marion; his children: Arthur of Des Moines, Iowa; Linda (Steve) Crawford of Granger, Iowa and Mary of Des Moines,Iowa. His step daughter: Crystal Johnson of St Joseph, Missouri. HIs grandchildren: Megan and Heather Churchill, Ryan and Katie Crawford, Step-Grandhildren Alyse (Mike) Cordonnier, and Derek Briggs. Great-Grandchildren Jordon Sands, Alaina Heaston, Abigail Crawford. Step-Great-Grandchildren Bailey and Kayla Cordonnier and Zane Briggs. He was preceded in death by his parents and son David.
