PHILISPBURG - Herbert L. "Ted" Folmar, 83, of Philipsburg died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at 10:35 a.m. at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
Born Oct. 13, 1926, at Philipsburg, he was a son of Lloyd and Edna Marie (Wise) Folmar.
He was a member of St. Laurence Episcopal Church, Osceola Mills, and Osceola Mills Veterans of Foreign Wars Osceola Memorial Post NO. 5020.
Mr. Folmar was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He had worled as a carpenter for numerous years and had been employed with the maintenance department of Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District for 10 years prior to his retirement.
On Dec. 24, 1950, at Osceola Mills, he wed the former Josephine "Jo" Coleman, who died April 30, 1985.
Surviving are four daughers, Deborah Jo Petulla and her husband, Frank, Jean M. Raymond and her husband, Glenn, and Patti S. Rice and her husband, David, all of Osceola Mills, and Sheila K. Heath and her husband Joel, of Cherster Hill; 11 grandchildren, Joe Mike, Frank and Anthony "Tony" Petulla and Craig Petulla and his wife, Stephanie, all of Osceola Mills, Angel Costenbater and her husband, Bryan, of Kill Devil Hils, N.C., Whitney Joe Raymond of Osceola Mills, Jason McCliment and his wife, Jaimie, of Shrewsbury, Todd McCliment and his wife, Ildiko, of DeRiddre, La., Brandon McCliment and his finace, Shawna Leskovansky, of Osceola Mills RD, Devin W. Rice of Harrisburg and Derek J, Rice of Mill Hall; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Florence "Sis" Moore of Port Matilda, Phyllis McBath of Oklahoma, and Betty Lou Dixon and her husband, Sanford, of Morrisdale; two Brothers, Harold Folmar of California and Donald Folmar and his wife, Lois, of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was prededed in death by his parents; an infant son; and three brothers, Frank, Clair and Norman Folmar.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Aug, 14, at 11 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Glen Williams officiating.
Interment will be at Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received Friday, Aus. 13, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug, 14, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
