Genevieve Botkin, nee Hiel, passed away on December 24, 2013 at the age of 96. She is survived by her two sons John (Laurie) and Don; cherished grandmother of Douglas (Michelle), Christopher (Kristy), Jessie La Mantia (Dominic) and Nathan; proud great grandmother to Caroline Botkin and Lillian Botkin. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Wayne Botkin; her parents John and Lena Hiel nee Myers; five siblings, Margaret (late Gerald) Morrow, Wayne (late Edna) Hiel, Louis (Betty) Hiel, Vernett (late Pauline) Hiel and Schneider (late Jean) Hiel and great granddaughter Faith Botkin. Genevieve was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Avon area. She enjoyed painting, taught tube painting and still life painting. She was a member of the Avon Methodist Church and Avon Historical Society. Visitation will be held on December 28, 2013 at Corman Funeral Home, 108 E Washington St., Avon, IL 61415 at 10:00am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Avon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association in honor of her late husband Robert Wayne Botkin.
