No one else named Barre or Susie around him; in the 1940 census, he had a second wife...looks like Elfie, born 1896, and children Geraldine, George, Dorothy, & Barbara.

SAGER -- Edith Geraldine Barre Sager passed away on February 17th, 2009 at home in Terra Haute, Indiana at 83 years of age. She is remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and faith. She was active in many organizations, including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she most recently served as a volunteer at the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple. Some of her favorite callings included serving as a ward and stake Relief Society President and Young Women's President. She also sold Viking Sewing Machines, taught sewing classes, was a water color artist; with membership in the New Mexico Water Color Society; and an avid antique, modern and Barbie doll collector and was one of the founders of the Albuquerque Antique Doll Club. Geraldine has lived in many different places including El Paso, TX, Santa Monica, CA, Sierra Vista, AZ, Somerset, NJ, Columbus and Dayton, OH, Kingston and Poughkeepsie, NY, with her favorite places being Albuquerque, NM where she lived close to her family before returning to Terra Haute, IN in August, 2007 to live with her dear friends Darren and Vicki Peterson. Geraldine Sager was born on April 18th in 1925 in Hagerman, New Mexico to parents Emile George Theodore Barre and Elfie Mae Bogart Barre. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1926, and there met and married Harold Lee Sager on June 1, 1953. Geraldine is survived by her Daughter-in-Law, Diane Nagle of Henderson, Nevada, her grandchildren, Charlotte Sager Jones of Bakersfield, California and Michael Shane Sager of Roseville, California, her brother, George (and Sherry) Barre and sister, Barbara Barre Diewald both of Albuquerque, New Mexico and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Elfie Barre, her husband, Harold Sager, her son, John Barre Sager, and her sister, Dorothy Barre Kidd. Services are at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints at the Terra Haute Chapel at 1845 N. 6th Street. The Family will receive friends and loved ones beginning at 5 pm in the Relief Society Room. Enterrment will take place following a brief graveside service with grave dedication by Darren Peterson at the Terra Haute, Ohio Cemetery Saturday, February 28, 2009.
