Maggie B. Vest age 96, of Wesley Chapel Community, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2002 in the East Texas Medical Center – Crockett.

Mrs. Vest was born June 15, 1905 in Alvin and had been living in the Wesley Chapel Community, Houston County, since 1913. Mrs. Vest was a housewife.

Survivors include sons, Herman L. Vest, Waymon C. Vest, both of Alaska, and Charles E. Vest of Crockett; daughter, Iradell V. Hansen and husband David of Houston; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchldren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Fannie B. Vest of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husband, Leaford B. Vest; sons, L. Burr Vest and Leamon H. (Lee) Vest; daughter Letha O. Vest; parents A. E. Birdwell and Annie Parsons Birdwell; sister Beatrice Birdwell Vest; brothers Eddy Birdwell and Floyd E. Birdwell; and sister-in-law Lillie Rawls Birdwell.
Pallbearers were Justin W. Vest, Ray Davis, John Vest, Keith Davis, Joel Vest, Carl Hansen, Bradley Vest and Justin E. Vest.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie B. Vest were held Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Randy Hargrove officiating. Interment followed in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
