An Old Citizen Passes

Last Monday morning, about 5 o'clock, Mr. Valentine Bryant, who was close to ninety years old, died at his home about 6 miles east of Columbia. He had been declining for six months and his death was not a surprise. He was a good citizen and commanded the respect of all who knew him. When a young man, he lived in Columbia, making his home with Rev. John James, who was the pastor of the Baptist Church.
