Dau of George P Stevens

Emilie Adele Stevens married Charles A. Plumley on August 2, 1900.

She was born in Walden, Vermont on February 8, 1872 and died in Northfield, Vermont on November 12, 1960.

Her family was residing in Manchester, New Hampshire at the time of her marriage.

Charles and Emilie had three children: Allan R. Plumley (November 8, 1901-March 9, 1988), Fletcher D.P. Plumley (October 6, 1906-July 5, 1965), and Evelyn Stevens Plumley Adams (June 25, 1904-November 11, 2001).

Allan graduated from Norwich in 1923 and George Washington University Law School in 1929, and became an attorney. He died in Arlington, Virginia

Fletcher graduated from Norwich in 1928. He received an MBA from Harvard in 1933 and a law degree from George Washington University Law School in 1940. He served as Secretary of Civil and Military Affairs (chief assistant) for Governor William Wills in the early 1940s and Chairman of the state Public Service Commission in the mid 1940s. During World War II he was a JAG officer in the Vermont National Guard. He died in Washington County, Vermont -- I presume he died in Northfield, but he might have died at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Evelyn graduated from Middlebury College in 1925. Evelyn was married to Ernest M. Adams in Northfield on August 20, 1932. Evelyn and Ernest resided in New Hampshire, and she died in Peterborough.
