MACON: Dorothy Mattox DuRocher, 84, of Willow Creek Drive, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. The family now knows she has eternal peace with her Lord and Savior. They will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00am, prior to an 11:00am funeral service on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene at 4192 Hartley Bridge Road in Macon. Burial will take place at 3:30pm, Saturday, at Brewton Cemetery in Hagan. Rev. Robert Brown will officiate the services.

Mrs. DuRocher, the daughter of the late Howell Parks Mattox and Mary Ethel Nelson Mattox, was born in Glenville on February 12, 1926, and had lived in Macon for the past fifty years. She had been a Christian since a young age, with the reading and studying of God's word having always been a daily enjoyment of her life. Mrs. DuRocher will be remembered for her sharing of this love with her family. She attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene and was a faithful servant of the Lord her entire life. Mrs. DuRocher was retired from Robins Air Force base, and in her younger years, earned her single engine pilot's license and traveled to many places, including Cuba. She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Elmer DuRocher.

Mrs. DuRocher's memory will be treasured by her daughters and sons-in-law: Robin and Alan Horton of Springfield, Missouri, Rhonda and Jimmy Beeland of Watkinsville, Penny DuRocher Janes and Mitch Porter, both of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren: Kelli Jones, Holli Janes, Joshua Janes, Kelsey Beeland, Bryson Porter and Hayden Porter; and by her great-grandchildren: Landon Pickering, Jackson Terrell and Sophie Swancey.
