John was born April 24, 1917 in Kirksville, Missouri, to Samuel Nelson Still and Linnie Beatrice Lynch Still.
On October 14, 1939 John married Cordelia Pearl "Corky" Mason; they raised three children. John and Cordelia moved to Fort Collins in 1951. They moved to Arizona in 1985 and lived there until returning home to Fort Collins in June of 1995. Cordelia passed away on January 5, 1996.
John owned and operated Still Linoleum and Tile for 25 years; retiring in 1974. He was a member of Peak Community Church, loved visiting people, hunting, fishing and camping, lapidary and traveling.
John married Lillian Hennke on December 12, 1998 in Kirksville, Missouri. They knew each other for sixty plus years and had both lost their spouses. Their friendship turned into love in a few short months.
John leaves behind his wife, Lillian, of Fort Collins; sister, Linnie Reese, of San Mateo, California; sons, Fred (Brenda) Still, of Kennewick, Washington, and Herbert (Millie) Still, of Fort Collins; daughter, Berniece (Robert) Asel, of Findlay, Ohio; stepsons, Jim (Jeannine) Hennke, of Fishers, Indiana, and Bill (Cindy) Hennke, of Kirksville, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cordelia P. Still; two brothers; and three sisters.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Allnutt Drake Chapel. The Reverend Greg Kendall, Senior Pastor of Peak Community Church will officiate. Burial of cremains will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
