She was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Secor, Ill., to Henry and Margaret (Everding) Seggerman. She married Henry J. Fortman on Aug. 1, 1947 in Minonk, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four half brothers, 10 sisters and one half sister.
She worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for seven years. She also worked ten years for the Martha Maid Clothing Factory in Minonk.
She was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church in Morton.
