Alice M. Bickford, 96, died Feb. 3, 2009, at a Pittsfield hospital following a period of ill health. Alice was born in Solon on Oct. 14, 1912, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Jones) Matson. She was a graduate of Solon High School and an active member of the Solon Congregational Church. She was a member of the Keystone Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Solon.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Glenn Sennett; her second husband, Earl Bickford; and her daughter, Beverly Sennett Berry.
She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Sennett Vining and her husband, Cliff, of Newport and Florida; her son-in-law, Dick Berry of Newport and Florida; three grandsons, Richard Berry Jr. of Plant City, Fla., Michael Vining of Dover, N.H., and Dr. Mark Vining of Worcester, Mass.; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Matson of Southington, Conn., and will be remembered by a very special friend, Violet Foster Higgins of Pittsfield.
Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at the Village Cemetery in Pittsfield. (Morning Sentinel 2/5/2009)
