Mrs. Bowman was born March 24, 1946 in Angelina County, Texas, and she passed away Friday, December 7, 2007, in a local hospice facility. She was loving and devoted wife and mother, as well as a homemaker. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Bowman of Lufkin; daughter, Debbie Self Vardeman of Lufkin; brother, A. T. Curtis of Gilmer and Jerry "Butch" Ferguson of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Corine and Hampton Miller of Dallas; sisters, Betty Price of Diboll and Evelyn York of Tyler; sister, Sherry Sharp and friend Roxanna McGarity of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her parents, Austin "Slim" and Evia Mae Ferguson; brother, Marion Fulton Ferguson; and sister, Cora Faye Durham.
Mrs. Bowman's nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice in the Pines, Dr. Kyle Krohn, the Hospice nurses and the nurses in the Henderson Unit of Memorial Medical Center for the care given to their loved one.
