Nelson Parmalee Baldwin, son of Eleazer Bronson Baldwin and Charlotte P Esray, was born 13 Feb 1838 in North Chili, Monroe, NY.

His father was listed on the census 1 June 1840 in Chili, Monroe, NY. In June 1846 Eleazer Bronson Baldwin was sentenced to 3 months in Jail and a fine of $150 for receiving stolen property. Shortly after this the family moved to OH.

He enlisted in Company Batty E, Ohio 1st LA Batty E Light Artillery Battery on 07 Oct 1861. Mustered out on 01 Sep 1864. His rank was Private.

He married Adaline Munson on 3 Nov 1864 in Lorain, OH. She was a daughter of John P. Munson and Mary Polly Sage and born 1 Aug 1846 in Harrisville, Medina, OH. She died 14 Nov 1865 in Paw Paw, Van Buren, MI.
