Services for Mabel E. Anderson 92, of Omaha, who died Saturday at Immanuel Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Osceola's St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul Reimers officiating. Burial is in the Osceola Cemetery. The body will lie in state 1-9 p.m. today in Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home.
She was born on July 31,1886, at Shelby, the daughter of Thomas Hamilton and Nettie Burlingame. She was married on December 8, 1915 in Omaha to C. Albin Anderson and they lived in Osceola, Lincoln, and later Omaha. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors are sons Richard of Modesto, California and Donald of Bettendorf, Iowa; daughters Mrs. M.E. (Doris) Anderson of Omaha, and Mrs. E.M. (Mary Jean) Kuchera of Los Angeles; a sister Mrs. Fred (Merle) Butz of Hastings; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her interests were her family, crocheting, gardening and cooking. A prolific quilter, she made quilts for many immediate and extended family members. She also had a small business selling her quilts.
She was an avid gardener, sharing her bounty with those in need. She could darn and bake, and although she never went to college, she valued education. She lived her entire life in Nebraska, with the exception of 2 years, when she lived in Laramie, Wyoming (1890-1892). She lived in the following places in Nebraska: Shelby, Silver Creek, Osceola, Lincoln and Omaha.
