FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
JAMES F. OVERMIRE
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon July 1, at the Methodist Church in Mallard, for James Franklin Overmire, 82, with Rev. David Streyffeler conducting the services. The Foy-Ellsworth Funeral Home of Emmetsburg, was in charge and burial was made in the Rush Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Overmire passed away at the Curry Rest Home in Emmetsburg, where he has lived for several months.
Pallbearers were eight grandsons: Dean, Gene and Jerry Stoulil; James, Jack, Gene and Donald Overmire and Gene Bjorklund.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alma Stoulil, of Pocahontas; Mrs. Clarence Bjorklund of Emmetsburg; and three sons, Harry of Ayrshire; Merle of East Moline, Illinois; and Marion of McCallsburg, Iowa and 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death in 1948 by his wife the former Iona Jane Peden of Mallard, following an automobile accident. A twin brother of (sic) two sisters, Lena and Orpha Marion passed away in infancy, and two brothers, Walter and William also preceeded him in death.
