She was born on September 12, 1923, in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late Raymond and Edith Grimsley Good.

Mrs. Smith lived her entire life in the Shenandoah area and graduated from Shenandoah High School. Before retiring, she was employed with 7-11 in Elkton.

On April 12, 1941, she married Benjamin E. "Bennie" Smith, who died on November 26, 2003.

She is survived by a son, Marvin E. Smith of Elkton; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth St.Clair of Elkton, and Maxine Beauchesne of McGaheysville; one brother, Leonard Paul Good of Elkton; two sisters, Nellie Collier and Nora Merica, both of Shenandoah; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Benjamin E. Smith Jr., and a sister, Dorothy Hensley.

A funeral service was conducted on Friday, March 7, at the Mount Lebanon Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. Jim Martin. Burial was private.
