Paul was born July 12, 1928 in Shenandoah and was the son of the late Raymond J and Edith Grimsley Good. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Hensley and Virginia Smith.
Paul was a Korean Army Veteran and was awarded the Silver Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster for his service. He worked at Norfolk and Western as a heavy equipment operator for 39 years and retired in June 1990. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0222. He loved working in his wood shop and enjoyed being outdoors.
On July 11, 1962 he married Norawood Downey Good who survives; he is also survived by a daughter Lavonia Thomas and husband Michael of Houston Texas. Sisters: Nellie Collier and Nora Merica both of Shenandoah; one Granddaughter Nicole Thomas from Houston Texas; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Kyger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Family will receive friends on Tuesday March 10, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Elkton. Friends may call and visit the family’s home in Elkton at anytime.
