Another Death Summons
Brief was the message at midnight last night which cast a gloom over another home in Rialto. "John Coleman was killed near tunnel 16 tonight."
John A. Coleman was a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Coleman and was a brakeman in the employ of the Santa Fe out of Bakersfield.
Beside his parents and a sister and two brothers, who mourn his sudden taking away, there is a bride of but a few days over three months, who will accompany the remains south, where they will be laid to rest beside those of a younger brother (*Lon M. Coleman) who died just seven years ago this month.

JOHN COLEMAN
Funeral services for the late John Coleman, killed in tunnel 16 on the Tehachapi grade Sunday, were held from the chapel of Barton & Catick yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock and attended by a large number of relatives from the Rialto colony, and railroad men from this city and Bakersfield.
Rev. J. H. Lash, pastor of the Rialto Congregational church, officiated and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved parents and bride. The choir of the Rialto Congregational church rendered three hymns, and a solo number was given by Miss Scharle, of Rialto.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful, speaking of the esteem in which the deceased was held and sympathy for the living relatives. Among the offerings was a broken wheel from the local lodge of Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen, and a shovel with a broken handle from the Bakersfield lodge of the same order. A delegation of firemen from Bakersfield attended the funeral.
At the grave the impressive burial service of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen was read.
The pall bearers were from the Locomotive Firemen and were: Campbell McNeil, E. Walters, Edward Shumate, F. Strawn, George W. Faun, George Wixom.
