METTER, Ga. - Frances Barnes Williams passed away November 11, 2011 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

The Augusta native had lived in Metter most of her life. She was a homemaker and also worked at Pineland State Bank and the Candler County Hospital accounting department.

Mrs. Williams was a founding member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Metter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, G.B. Williams.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Debra Williams of Statesboro and a daughter, Ann Williams of Metter; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sara Barnes of Clearwater, SC; brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Darwin and June Williams of Register and Martha James of Kennesaw; two grandsons and their wives, Brooks and Melanie Williams of Milledgeville, Doug and Katy Williams of Bluffton, SC; two great grandchildren, Zach and Caleb Williams of Milledgeville; her caregiver, Adell Murray, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Metter. Burial was in the Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery.
