OBITUARY
IVINS – Kenneth Vernon Ingram, Sr., 73, passed away September 6, 2009 at his home in Ivins, Utah, of natural causes, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born July 31, 1936 in Brigham City, Utah to O'dell and Martha Packer Ingram. His parents divorced shortly after his birth, and his mother married R. Glen Ingram, who was a father to Ken. He was later sealed to them in the Ogden LDS Temple. The family moved to San Francisco, California in 1941 where he grew up. They returned to Roy, Utah in 1951. He graduated from Weber High School in 1954. He joined the U.S. Navy in November 1954 and served until November 1958. He then joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He retired from the Reserve after 31 years of service. He attended Weber State College where he earned an Associate Degree.
After he returned from the Navy, Ken worked at various jobs. He then began working at Hill AFB. He retired from Hill AFB in March 1993 after 37 years of faithful service.
Ken married Peggy Code on April 14, 1960; they were later divorced. On May 20, 1989 Ken married the love of his life, LaRue Batchelor, in the Ogden LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Ken was a wonderful husband who made dreams come true. They have spent 20 years loving each other and enjoying their family and their life together. They loved to travel in their truck and 5th wheel, and spent many, many happy hours camping, fishing, and spending time with their wonderful friends.
Ken was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and honored his Priesthood throughout his life. He served faithfully in all callings in the Church, in whatever capacity he was asked to do. He had a strong and loving testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and to the truthfulness of the gospel.
Ken is survived by his wife, LaRue of Ivins, UT; children: Kenneth V. Ingram, Jr. of St. George, UT; Michael J. (Susan) Ingram of Rexburg, ID; Cari Lyn Farr of Ogden, UT; and Kimberly (Clint) Howard of Brigham City, UT. Brother and sisters: Don Ingram of Roy, UT; Glenda (Frank) Davenport of Clinton, UT; and James R. (Mary) Ingram of West Haven, UT. Brothers and Sisters-in law: William (Karen) Batchelor of Hooper, UT; Lyn B. Hyer of Layton, UT; Joni (Steven) Weaver of Pleasant View, UT: and Grant (Annette) Batchelor of Roy, UT. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Carter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Sunday, September 13, 2009, from 6 to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment, Hooper City Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper, Utah, where military honors will be accorded.
