Albert "Burt" A. Albertson, 85, Brainerd, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village Apartments.
He was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Brainerd to Adolph and Lillian (Pentin) Kern. He was later raised by his aunt and uncle, Peter and Ann Albertson, because of the death of his mother when he was an infant.
He married Marcell W. Swartout on Oct. 19, 1940, in Brainerd. She died Aug. 20, 1998. He worked as a carman and inspector for the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads from 1942 until his retirement in 1975. He farmed for many years in the South Long Lake area until fully retiring on South Long Lake. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Golden "K" Kiwanis.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy Albertson, Brainerd, and Allan Albertson, Merrifield; two daughters, Gloria Munsch, Brainerd, and Patricia Willimas, Lindstrom; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew raised by Albert and Marcell Albertson, Toni Logering, Merrifield, and George Glubka, Merrifield.
His wife, two brothers, a sister, and a great-grandchild, died earlier.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Brainerd with Pastor Brian Wermager and Pastor Richard Lafer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens of Brainerd.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home of Brainerd and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
