Doraett Ready Hartzog, age 73, of Pascagoula passed away in her home on Thursday, June 14, 2007 surrounded by her family.
She was born April 23, 1934 in Monticello, MS and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1961. She married her husband, L. H. Hartzog, on November 18, 1951. In the 1970's, she was an employee of Singing River Hospital Surgery Department. In 1994, she retired after 15 years from Lafont Inn in Pascagoula where she was a housekeeping supervisor. After her retirement, she enjoyed her time with her family being a mother, grandmother, and gardener.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, L. H. Hartzog; parents, Roan and Ella Mae Ready; sister, Wilma Hicks; brother, Buddy Ready; son-in-law, Charles Cross.
She is survived by her three daughters, Terry Cross, Douglasville, GA; Deborah H. Chatham, Gulfport, MS; Lori Long (James "Kirk"), Pascagoula; four sisters, Irene Dorian, Swampscott, Mass; Martha Reed, Lafayette, LA; Mae Hartzog, Penn.; Fae James Georgia; five grandchildren, Megan Cross Pepper, Claire Chatham, Taylor Davis, Alison Long, and Samuel Long.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2007, 1:00-2:00pm, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, MS. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Victor Chatham officiating.
Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.
