William (Willie) Happel, 91, a former Kiel resident, died March 29 at Calumet Homestead Nursing Home, New Holstein, where he had resided or the past three years.
He was born December 2, 1888, in the town of Schleswig, son of Karl and Nellie Happel. He attended district school. He married Louisa Neumann on January 25, 1913, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Town of Schleswig until 1958, when they moved to Kiel. They observed their 67 wedding anniversary in January. Mr. Happel was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Melvin, Kiel; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
