J.M. Burleson, 66, of Austin died of a sudden heart attack in Vienna, Austria, May 19. He and his wife were on a vacation tour of Europe when he was stricken.
Funeral services are pending in Austin.
A former resident of Gatesville, Mr. Burleson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Burleson of this city. He was married to Miss Penelope Hardin in Gatesville and they later moved to Austin, where he was employed by the Texas Employment Commission for many years before retiring last January.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. George (Penny) Miller; and a grandson, Jim Miller, all of Austin.
