The funeral was held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown by the Rev. Anne Hough. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery
Mrs. Borden was born March 28, 1916, in Humboldt, Tenn., daughter of the late Robert Edward and Vera Bell Harrell Philpott and granddaughter of Noah T. and Nancy Ann (Morris) Philpott. She had been employed by the Winchester Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Middletown Garden Club. She was wife of the late Donald Eugene Borden.
Surviving are two sons, Gary E. Borden of Middletown and William "Billy" C. Borden of Woodstock; a sister, Jean V. Eaton of Stephenson; a brother, George H. Philpott of Ocala, Fla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
