William Wesley Kersh, son of John Kersh (1814-1901) and Mary Ann Rhodes (1818-1911) and brother of Daniel Green Rogers Kersh (1838-1906) was married three times and had 15 children.


Children of his first wife JoAnna M. Rhodes were Oliver John, William Daniel, and JoAnn Beulah Kersh who married Walter Barnett Smith.


William's second marriage to Justiva Elizabeth Butler yielded five children, Ethelbert Barksdale, Sudie Auroaleigh, Jessie Butler, Aura Helen and Alma Justina.


His third marriage was to Zeruah America Steed. They had an infant son who died at birth and Lula Elvy, Annie Elizabeth, Phillip Dilake, Henry Grady, Zeruah America and James Richard.
